From the back cover:
Ginny is newly divorced and anxious to explore her submissive side. But does Tom have what it takes to get inside her defenses?
I placed this title on my Amazon wish list because I liked the concept. First time experiences can be a lot of fun to read, especially when dealing with a kink like submissiveness. I was curious to see how the author would handle it. Jasmine was very kind and gifted me a copy to review.
The story is about a 50-year-old divorcee who is tired of vanilla sex, or no sex at all, and decides to explore her submissive side. She hooks up with another divorcee she met through a dating site (Ready2Mingle, I love that name!) and they have their first encounter. Parameters are set – no meeting the kids, no touching of boobs or crotches, and no sex; reasonable rules for a first meeting.
As the story unfolds we learn that Ginny enjoys being dominated; was there any doubt? When she tries to bend the rules, Tom, the dominate of the tale, refuses, though by the end the no-touching rule is thrown to the wayside.
For the most part, I enjoyed this story. It’s a quick read with likable characters.
The story is told in past-tense, second-person where the reader is Tom. I found this to be a little unnerving at first and distracting as the story progressed. There is a lot of unnecessary description in the beginning as the author sets the scene and the characters. I believe the story would have been better had it been written in first-person or as a journal entry, but it is what it is.
The story is short. I read it in under 20 minutes, and I’m a slow reader. The reason I mention this is the story only makes up about 30% of the book. The rest is an except for Jasmine’s dark, dystopian romance, Mindgames. I read the prologue and the story sounds interesting.
