Layla by CJ Dougls
From the back cover:

Layla Jasper has been happily married to her husband Hank for years, without any thought of straying.

But on a night in with her wealthy friends, the conversation turns to matters of sex – and Layla is dared to sleep with a man who isn’t her husband.

Could she ever do such a thing? The very thought is abhorrent, nonsensical – but also hotter than anything Layla has ever imagined.

When her husband confesses he’s always fantasized about just such an event, the two begin their journey into a lifestyle they’ve never thought of before.

Welcome to the Real Hotwives of Orange County.

My review:

I enjoy hotwife stories with a lot of introspection and this one did not disappoint.

I loved the way the author dealt with Layla’s inner conflict as the main character embarks on her journey after being dared by a friend to have a one-night affair with a stranger. When Layla discovers her husband fantasizes about her making love to other men, Layla draws the courage to explore her desires. While there is sex – this is erotica, after all – I did not feel that was the driving force. As with any good story, this was a character-driven tale, well told by a talented writer.

I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
